About Ellen Alderton

I'm a professional writer and editor with more than 30 years of wide-ranging experience. Among my many gigs, I’ve served as a technical writer for the United Nations in Austria, a journalist covering European Union business policy in Belgium, and an executive producer of hundreds of educational radio spots broadcast nationally across Hispanic Radio Network. I’ve produced a series of more than 30 illustrated vignettes for the Peace Corps and have taught writing and business communications at Marymount University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

To complement my writing skills, I bring substantive leadership experience to the table. I've launched a computer school for the International Atomic Energy Agency, served on four nonprofit boards, co-founded two national nonprofit organizations, executive produced national behavioral change communication campaigns targeting Latino audiences, and overseen worldwide marketing efforts for the Peace Corps' network of hundreds of graduate school partnerships.

I received my A.B. in psychology from Wellesley College, and I was an exchange student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where I focused on media and design. In addition, I studied for one semester at the University of Cordoba, Spain. I received my master’s degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins University’s School of Advanced International Studies, concentrating on coursework in environmental policy, law, and economics. I lived overseas for 13 years and have worked and studied in Arabic, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Spanish.
